Slick roads, Dense fog prompts new weather warning

Thick fog and icy roads will make for difficult driving conditions throughout the Netherlands on Thursday morning. Meteorological institute issued a code yellow warning for almost the entire country, warning of visibility of less than 100 meters in some places.

Both fog and iciness should dissipate during the course of the morning. The weather warning is in effect until noon. "Adjust your driving behavior. Follow weather reports and warnings", the meteorological institute warns.

The weather conditions aren't only affecting road traffic. Schiphol airport also warned of delays caused by the fog. "Due to fog, our airport capacity has been reduced and delays are to be expected. Improvement is not expected before 11:00h." the airport wrote on Twitter. Travelers are advised to check Schiphol's website for actual travel information before leaving for the airport.
