Hieronymus Bosch exhibit brings visitors from 81 countries

This year Den Bosch dedicated the entire year to locally born artist Hieronymus Bosch. During the year 1.3 million people visited the city. A small 422 thousand people from 81 different countries visited the Hieronymus Bosch - visions of a genius exhibition in the Noordbrabants Museum, Omroep Brabant reports.

The year of Hieronymus Bosch came to an official end on Sunday, with a party on the Wilhelminaplein. There was music and fireworks and the unveiling of the so-called Bosch Beast, a massive metal owl.

But most of the attention was on the volunteers that made the year a success. They were personally thanked by Mayor ton Rombouts and given a bronze medal of apprecation. "Without these volunteers, there would have been no Bosch year", the mayor said.
