Woman falls from Nijmegen bridge onto cruise ship

A woman sustained serious injuries in Nijmegen on Wednesday when she fell off the Waal bridge on the Waalkade and landed on the deck of a passing cruise ship, the Gelderlander reports.

Emergency services responded en masse and rushed the woman to the hospital. At this stage the police believe the woman was trying to commit suicide.

The cruise ship on which she fell - the A-Rosa Flora - was on its way to Germany. The passengers were inside the ship at the time.
