Zeewolde murder victim identified

The police identified a body found in a home in Zeewolde on Wednesday. The victim is a 48-year-old man. He was the resident of the home on Noorderiland, the police said.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the man's death. One of the suspects was turned in at a police station by his father.

At this stage the police can not comment on the cause of the man's death or the circumstances surrounding it.

Witnesses told newspaper AD that the victim was strangled and stabbed. A statement made by the one suspect's father said that the murder was the result of a conflict about drugs, according to the newspaper.
