Dutch girl, 8, sexually abused at French campsite

An 8-year-old Dutch girl was sexually assaulted at a campground in Saint-Alban-Auriolles in Ardeche, France during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Her parents pressed charges, NOS reports. The girl was sleeping by herself in a tent next to that of her parents. The parents woke up to their daughter's screams and rushed to her. The perpetrator ran off. The French police, with the help of 35 soldiers and a helicopter, launched a manhunt for the perpetrator. As far as is known, he hasn't been found. A visit to the hospital confirmed that the girl was raped, according to NOS. According to RTL Nieuw, the campground where the girl was raped is called Du Vieux Pont and many Dutch vacation there. A serial rapist was active in the same area between 2010 and 2012. He raped several victims between the ages of 6 and 17 years before being caught. The Frenchman is currently serving a 13 year prison sentence.
