Man killed in Drenthe robbery

A man was killed in his home during a robbery in the Drenthe village of Gees early on Thursday morning. He was attacked and seriously injured and later died of his injuries, ANP reports. The robbery happened on Dorpstraat. The victim's wife was also in the house during the robbery. She escaped unharmed. The circumstances of the robbery and whether the robbers stole anything is still unclear. "The woman is for us the only witness. But she was greatly upset by what happened", a spokesperson for the police said to NU.nl. "We are now particularly focused on findng the robbers as soon as possible." The police are looking for three men with made-up faces. Their descriptions were spread on Burgernet. The police believe they were foreign men.
