Univ. Groningen out €1.1 million over financial misconduct

A former technical manager at the University of Groningen defrauded the university out of some 1.1 million euros. He was arrested in January. According to RTV Noord, the man gave work to installation companies in exchange for money. He worked at the University for 33 years. The case involves seven other suspects, including the former manager's daughter and son-in-law. The university took measures to prevent further fraud, such as stopping cooperation with a number of suppliers and stricter supervision on administration.
