Video: Dutch man kidnapped by Colombian gang makes escape

A video shows a Dutch "drug tourist" narrowly escaping a kidnapping by a drug gang in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods of Bogota, Columbia, RTL Nieuws reports based on Colombian media media. According to Semana news, the man bought drugs from the gang but could not pay. So the drug dealers kidnapped him. He managed to escape by climbing up a roof, with the drug dealers close behind him. An eyewitness filmed the man on the roof, with the drug dealers following and later also the arrival of emergency services. The footage show the drug gang keeping their distance from the Dutchman, presumably because of the police presence. After about an hour, the fire brigade managed to talk the visibly frightened Dutchman off the roof and arrest him. Semana reports that the Dutchman is very lucky to escape the incident with his life. Every year dozens of people are tortured and killed in the country due to failed drug deals.
