Hieronymus Bosch exhibit draws record number visitors

The Hieronymus Bosch exhibition in the Noordbrabants Museum drew a total of 421,700 visitors - a record number of visitors for an exhibition in the Den Bosch museum, ANP reports. "It was fantastic to see that Hieronymus Bosch is still admired by such a large and global audience", director Charles de Mooij said to the news wire. The exhibition Hieronymus Bosch - Visions of a genius opened on February 13th and closed at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. The museum twice extended its opening hours and made more tickets available due to popular demand. For the closing weekend the Noordbrabants Museum was open for 39 straight hours. The exhibition formed art of the national event year Hieronymus Bosch 500, celebrated in 2016. The year commemorates the 500th anniversary of the Dutch artist's death.
