Anne Frank House, Nemo among top Dutch cultural institutions

The Anne Frank House is both the favorite cultural institution and the institution with the strongest cultural brand in the Netherlands. Amsterdam science center Nemo is the most welcoming museum in the country, according to the annual culture sector brands study by Hendrik Beerda Brand Consultancy. According to Hendrik Beerda, museums can follow one of two recipes for success. Either have a "continuous stream of blockbuster exhibitions" or focus on the family market with day activities. The Anne Frank house is a good example of a museum that follows the second option, with its strong education program, among other things. The top 10 favorite cultural institutions stand as follows:
  1. Anne Frank House
  2. Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
  3. Paleis Het Loo
  4. Van Gogh Museum
  5. Spoorwegmuseum (Railway museum in English)
  6. Kroller-Muller Museum
  7. Nederlands Openluchtmuseum (Dutch Open Air Museum in English)
  8. Naturalis
  9. Scheepvaartmuseum (Maritime museum in English)
  10. Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
Nemo, the science center in Amsterdam, got first place when it comes to hospitable or welcoming cultural institutions. According to the study, Nemo staff are seen as the friendliest. The science center also got the highest scores when it comes to child-friendliness and price and quality. The top 10 most welcoming institutions in the Netherlands stand as follows:
  1. Nemo
  2. Spoorwegmuseum
  3. Nederlands Openluchtmseum
  4. Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
  5. Drents Museum
  6. Naturalis
  7. Groninger Museum
