VVD kicks out city councilman accused of assault

The VVD in Weert decided to terminate councilor Rolf Zincken's membership to the party, the Weert faction announced on Wednesday. Zincken was suspended in December after he was arrested for assaulting businessman Eric Adams. In a statement on their website, the VVD Weert faction writes that after man conversations and consultations they initially believed they could continue working with Zincken. But that "very recent mail traffic with the VVD administration revealed that Mr. Zincken regards his actions as justified and acceptable." Given that the VVD considers Zincken's actions unacceptable, the party and he obviously have completely different opinions. So the party decided to terminate his membership with immediate effect.
