Two babies found home alone in house hiding marijuana farm
The police discovered to unattended babies and a cannabis farm in a home in Eindhoven-Noord on Wednesday night. The babies' parents were arrested when they arrived home more than two hours later.
A package deliverer called the police around 7:30 p.m. when he saw a crying baby in a box while trying to delver a package. He knocked on the door, but no one answered.
The police also got no answer when they arrived at the scene. Officers forced the door and found a few-months-old baby in a box in the living room. They found another child, about 1.5 years old, sleeping alone in a bed.
A further search of the house found no other people, but did reveal a cannabis farm with about 125 plants through a door in the child's room.
The parents arrived home around 9:00 p.m. and were arrested on the spot. The 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman are in custody for further investigation.
The babies were handed over to the Youth Care Agency. The cannabis was confiscated.
