Jumbo supermarket to shed nearly 200 jobs

Supermarket chain Jumbo is scrapping 190 of the 925 jobs at headquarters in a reorganization following the Jumbo-C1000 merge. Compulsory redundancies can not be excluded, news wire ANP reports. The job cuts will primarily hit administrative and management functions that are no longer needed after the merge. The company plans to sell some of those activities, which could save some jobs. Jumbo plans to have all its headquarters employees working from Veghel in Brabant, which meas that the service facility in Amersfoort will be closing its doors during the course of 2016.
