Vodafone: KPN caused €115 million in damages over all-in-one fight
Vodafone is accusing KPN of abuse of power and is suing the company for 115 million euros in damages. According to Vodafone, the company lost millions of euros between 2011 and 2014 because KPN "routinely" thwarted them in their wish to launch an all-in-one service including platform for television, BNR reports.
KPN is the manager of the national copper network and a large fiber network. As such, Vodafone needed agreements with KPN to launch their television platform. Agreements that KPN did not fulfill.
According to Vodafone, KPN repeatedly came up with excuses for delays. Vodafone customers also had to call a KPN call center with questions and complaints and were told multiple times that the television platform was postponed. And KPN continually put new managers on the project.
For those reason Vodafone CEO Rob Shuter sees no other option than to file this lawsuit, he said to the Financieele Dagblad.
A spokesperson for KPN denied all these accusations to BNR.
