Wilders wants “nothing more” than to be PM; PVV support up after violent protests

PVV leader Geert Wilders would want "nothing more" than to become Prime Minister if his party becomes the largest. And if elections were held now, that may well be the case. The latest poll by Maurice de Hond shows that the PVV currently stands at 37 virtual seats - more than the coalition has combined. "If the PVV becomes the biggest, we must assume our responsibilities", Wilders said on television program EenVandaag. According to the Telegraaf, only PVV voters consider Wilders a suitable Prime Minister. Voters for the PvdA, D66 and GroenLinks are very much against the participation of the PVV, even if it becomes the largest party. VVD, SP and CDA voters responded divided. The recent violent protests surrounding the refugee debate has steadily increased the support for the anit-Islam party. Over the past 6 weeks the PVV's virtual seats gradually increased from 24 to 37. A massive increase when compared to the 15 seats the party got in 2012. The coalition has lost a large amount of support among the voters. The VVD is currently at 19 virtual seats, compared to 41 in 2012. The PvdA is doing even worse at 10 seats, compared to 38 in 2012.
