Armed robbers snatch fake gold bars from Curacao museum
Two armed robbers stole gold bars from the Curacao money museum Yotin Korta in Willemstad on Wednesday. Their loot turned out not to be worth as much as they presumably hoped - the museum announced that the stolen gold bars are worthless fakes, NU reports.
The two armed assailants forced the doors of the museum open and grabbed the two gold bars. Two employees that were inside managed to escape the property unharmed. Luckily, no visitors were in the museum at the time of the robbery.
The museum is part of the central bank for both the island of Curacao and Saint Maarten.
