Tilburg armed robbery turns deadly; 1 killed, suspects at large
One man was killed in what the police believe to be an armed robbery in a home on Betuwestraat in Tilburg on Tuesday afternoon. Two armed robbers are still at large.
According to the police, the incident happened around 4:25 p.m. A total of five men were in the house when the police arrived, the victim and four others. The four other men, all from Tilburg aged 26, 38, 47 and 53 years, were all arrested and taken to the police station for questioning. During the course of the evening a fifth man, 31 years old also from Tilburg, was also arrested. The police are investigating these men's involvement.
The police believe they know the identity of the victim, but it has not been confirmed yet. Local residents told BN the stem that the victim is the tenant of the house. He moved in about six months ago and since then there has been some drug problems. The police could not confirm this, but a spokesperson told the news site that the rumors are forming part of the investigation.
The two perpetrators are still at large, according to the police. Their descriptions were spread to local residents through Burgernet. Both perpetrators have dark skin and are about 1.9 meters tall. One wore a gray jacket with a hood and sweatpants with white stripes. The police warn that the suspects are armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
The police performed an extensive trace evidence investigation in the house. Officers have interviewed local residents and several witnesses were questioned.
