Home sales increase across the Netherlands
Home sales increased across all types of properties and in all provinces in the Netherlands in July. A total of 18,442 homes were registered as sold in July this year, an increase of 32.7 percent compared to July 2014 and an increase of 21.6 percent compared to June 2015.
This is according to figures released by the Land Registry on Tuesday. The Land Registry records the transactions on existing homes the moment the home transfers ownership to the buyer.
There was an increase in the number of registered home sales across all types of housing in July, both compared to the previous month and July last year. Sales in two-under-one-roof homes showed the largest increase in both cases, 37.4 percent compared to July 2014 and 28.8 percent compared to June 2015. Apartment sales showed the lowest increase in both cases, an increase of 25.1 percent compared to July 2014 and an increase of 15.3 percent compared to June.
The number of sold homes also increased in all provinces in the Netherlands. Flevoland showed the largest increase, both compared to June with a 51.4 percent increase, and compared to July 2014 with an increase of 43 percent. Zeeland showed the lowest increase compared to July last year with 18.6 percent. Friesland had the lowest increase compared to June with 7,5 percent.
The number of registered mortgages rose from 20,551 in July last year to 25,667 in July this year, an increase of 24.9 percent. Compared to June 2015 there was a 17.8 percent increase.
