Cops find drugs, knife after squad car crash; three held

Three men crashed their car into an unmarked police vehicle Wednesday evening, and a search of the vehicle turned up an undisclosed quantity of illegal drugs and a weapon, a police report stated. The trio were arrested shortly after the 7:45 p.m. crash at the corner of Keijenborg and de Vioolstraat in Roosendaal, Noord-Brabant. Police patrolling the scene before the crash became suspicious of the activity coming from vehicle parked on the corner. Officers think the accident happened after one of the suspects spotted police trying to block the exit of the premises, and the driver made an effort to speed out of the area, causing a minor car accident. Luckily no one was injured but after a brief search of the suspect’s vehicle, police officers found packets of drugs and a knife, the report stated. If having their vehicle towed wasn’t enough, the three suspects, a 20-year-old male from Roosendaal, a 21-year-old male from Bergen and a 29-year-old male from Wouw, were also detained. The suspects were held overnight, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.
