Ex-police det. gets 5 years for inciting underage girls to prostitution

The court in Den Bosch sentenced a former police detective to 5 years in prison on Thursday for inciting underage girls into prostitution and taking the money they earned. The Public Prosecutor had demanded 8 years against the man. The man pretended to be a woman on a website and asked the victims whether they wanted to make money by having sex. If they agreed, they first had to have sex with him as an "audition". He then drove his victims to secluded spots throughout Brabant where they could have sex in customers' cars. He took most of the money they earned. The former cop was caught in October 2013 when two police officers saw a 15 year old girl transfer from one car to another on a dirt road in Schijndel. The man incited four girls - aged 15, 16 and 17 years - into prostitution. He exploited one 15 year old girl for more than a year, taking half of her earnings and forcing her to have unprotected sex. He also made child pornography. According to NU., the fact that the man picked minors as his victims "and put their health at risk with unprotected sex" played a big part for the court in his sentencing. The court did, however, acquit him of several charges - two adult women and a 17 entered prostitution at his request, but still voluntarily, according to the court. Four of the girls' customers will appear in court at a later date.
