Tilburg celebrates 25th annual LGBT celebration day

On Monday Tilburg is celebrating the city's 25th edition of Roze Maandag, or Pink Monday in English - one of the largest gay rights events in the Netherlands. The festivities in the Amstel Beer Hall will start at noon, Omroep Brabant reports. A number of artists will be performing, including DJ Fedde Legrand, who will be presenting an official anthem for Pink Monday, Imca Marina, Marianne Webber, Dries Roelvink and Bonnie St. Claire. Last year more than 265 thousand people attended Pink Monday. And the city expects that this year will be just as busy. Measures have been taken to deal with the traffic coming to Tilburg. Pink Monday forms part of the Tilburg Fair, which is taking place from Friday July 17th to Sunday July 26th. More than one million people annually visit the 200 attraction in the city of Tilburg. Attractions this year include the Free Fall Tower, which is higher than the Heuvelse church tower, the Encounter on the Piuslein, a multimedia effect show with aliens, and the Spinning Coaster XXL on the Koningsplein.
