Suspect acquitted of sex with underage prostitute

The court has acquitted one of the men suspected of having sex with a 16 year old girl in the Valkenburg teen prostitution case. According to the court, there is insufficient evidence against the 55 year old man. The last six suspects appeared in court on Thursday. The 55 year old man heard his verdict on Thursday, instead of having to wait two weeks like the other defendants, due to his poor mental health, NOS reports. The Public Prosecutor had demanded a one year prison sentence against him. The suspect was present during his hearing. He confessed that he was with the 16 year old girl and that he gave her money, but denied that he ever had sex with her. According to NOS, he burst into tears regularly. A total of 29 men are being prosecuted in this case. They are all suspected of paying an underage girl for sex. Armin A., the main suspect and pimp in this case, was sentenced to 2 years in prison for inciting the girl into prostitution.
