PM Rutte: Stop rioting in The Hague

Prime Minister Mark Rutte calls the riots in Schilderswijk, The Hague this week terrible. They should stop immediately. The Prime Minister finds it inconceivable that people are attacking the police and vandalizing property. "I fully support the authority and they mayor who does good work here", the Prime Minister said, NOS reports. Wednesday night was the third consecutive night of unrest in Schilderswijk following the death of Mitch Henriquez. A total of 61 people have been arrested. During a press conference earlier this afternoon, the Public Prosecutor announced that as many of these suspects as possible will be tried in summary proceedings. The Hague Mayor Joziaz van Aartsen said that the police have the option to enforce a ban on assembly.
