Father who killed son for "not listening" sent to psych prison

The court has sentenced 46 year old Agus S. to compulsory treatment in a psychiatric institution for killing his 10 year old son in their home in Amsterdam West. S. was found guilty of manslaughter, but the court did not give him a prison sentence as at the time of the murder he was completely insane, AT5 reports. The verdict is in line with what the Public Prosecutor demanded. On November 13th last year S. stabbed his 10 year old son several times with different knives. He told the court that he was irritated that this son did not listen to him, but did listen to his wife. He said that he himself did not know why he stabbed the boy. The court decided to follow the experts' advice and have S. admitted into a psychiatric clinic. The psychologist who examined S.'s mental capacity concluded that he suffers from a serious pathological disorder which makes him unable to foresee the consequences of his actions and have violent outburst. S. can not be allowed to go free because he could pose a risk to society, particularly to his wife and family.
