One killed in Hague apartment explosion; pot plantation found on scene
Police officers found the body of one man after the explosion in an apartment building in The Hague on Monday. A dismantled cannabis plantation was also found in one of the apartments.
The explosion in the building on Goudriaankade happened at around 4:15 a.m. on Monday. The fire brigade quickly managed to get the fire under control and the police could launch an investigation. The man's body was found in the basement of the building, where the explosion originated. The police assumes that the man was a resident of one of the 27 apartments in the building. According to the police, they are not ruling out that the man took his own life and caused the explosion.
The police also found a dismantled cannabis plantation in one of the apartments. Detectives have launched an investigation to find the owner of the cannabis.
The 27 apartments in the building had to be evacuated after the explosion. The residents of these apartments were collected by the municipality. They should find out whether they can return home during the course of the day.
