Cops shoot at car driving into them
Two police officers fired two shots at a car on the corner of Javastraat and Tongerseweg in Maastricht on Sunday afternoon to prevent the car from crashing in to them.
At around 16:00 on Sunday afternoon, the two officers tried to pull over the car, containing two men, for a check. The men tried to flee by driving into the officers. Both officers fired one shot to try and avoid the collision and to stop the car from escaping.
The car was found a short time later on Champs Elyseeweg in the Campagne district. After a further search, the police found the two men behind a house on D'Artagnalaan. Both men were arrested.
No one was injured in the incident. The police are investigating the exact circumstances.
