New Efteling rollercoaster installed this week

The first train for the new Eftelling roller coaster, Baron 1898, is set to arrive in Kaatsheuvel this week. This means that it is only a matter of time before the test rides begin. This is according to Looopings, who had the information confirmed by several sources. On the “Baron 1898″ daredevils will free fall for 37.5 meters at over 90 kilometers per hour down a mine shaft. Safety authority TUV first has to give approval before the test rides can start. The dive coaster will eventually have three trains. The second train is expected to arrive in mid-May and the third by the end of the month. According to Looopings, the soundtrack for the ride has already been recorded. The melody was devised by Efteling composer Rene Merkelbach and recorded by symphony orchestra Brussels Philharmonic in a major Belgian recording studio. There will be cheerful, fanfare-like music in front of the entrance building, which will change to dark and ominous once visitors enter the roller coaster station. Eftelling has an official opening date in mind for the Baron 1898, but have not yet announced it.
