Over half of employees want career switch

More than half of Dutch employees would like to change their job in the next year, according to new research released Wednesday. Roughly 68 percent of people in the hospitality industry alone want a new job, the highest of any sector, the Loonwijzer and Monsterboard Wage index states. More than half of employees in such sectors as IT, transport and healthcare are also looking for different work. Overall, there is a slight increase in the percentage of job searchers across the surveyed industries in 2014. The highest job satisfaction level is in the agricultural sector (71%). The level of work satisfaction increased in all of the studied industries from 2013 to 2014. On average, about two-thirds of the workers are satisfied with their jobs, according to the Index, a report that provides insight into employment and wages developments in the Netherlands.
