Van hits, kills toddler in yard

An 18-month-old boy was hit by a van and died on Zwartsluisje in Zuid-Beijerland Thursday morning, AD reports. Emergency services tried to resuscitate the toddler to no avail.  The boy was at home in the yard when a 41-year-old woman hit him with her car. The driver alerted the emergency services immediately, but their help came too late to save the boy's life. Police are investigating the incident.
