Hundreds march silently for Germanwings victim

About 800 people participated in the silent march for Iris Claassen in Deurne last night, ED reports. Claassen was the only Dutch victim of the Germanwings plane crash in France. The procession began at 19:00 at Wolfsberg and participants walked in silence for two kilometers through Deurne. The procession also passed Claassen's home, where participants left flowers, cards and stuffed animals. The march ended at the church square in Zeilberg where participants released white balloons into the air. Deurne Mayor Hilko Mak gave a short speech after the procession. He stated that the community of Deurne has suffered a lot of tragedies lately, including Iris Claassen's death, the disaster with flight MH17 and the robbery at the jewelry store Goldies, in which two robbers died.
