Send kids to school at age 3: Labour leader

PvdA leader Diederik Samsom wants children to be sent to school at the age of 3 years to contribute to bridging the gap between "disadvantaged and promising", NRC reports. Samsom wrote this in an opinion piece in the Volkskrant. According to Samsom, the disparities in society are getting larger and threaten to be transferred from generation to generation. Samsom feels that the biggest potential lies "before the current start of education. Non-cognitive skills are mainly learnt at a very young age". Currently children have to go to school at the age of 5 years, but most children start school at the age of 4.
