Job fears as some IT companies leave Netherlands

IT companies threaten to leave the Netherlands because it is too difficult to get qualified staff. Unit4 closed a number of branches in the Netherlands for that reason, with 300 lost jobs as the result, De Telegraaf reports. Industry association ICT Nederland calls it "worrying" that companies decide to establish development and research centers in other countries. The association believes that the Dutch education system must be more responsive to market needs. Young people should be offered courses that will give them a good chance of finding a job. According to De Telegraaf, there were 34 thousand vacancies in IT last year, while only hundreds of youg people graduated in the field.
