Prisoner on leave implicated in kidnapping, rape

A psychiatric prisoner from the Van Mesdag clinic in Groningen is suspected of kidnapping and raping a prostitute. The 45 year old man was on unsupervised leave at the time. Early this month the police started a search for the prisoner after he did not return from his leave. On the night of December 7th, the police found him in Groningen in a car with a woman. The 41 year old woman worked in the prostitution area of the city. According to the Public Prosecutor, the woman was being held against her will. She also pressed charges of rape against the man. The prisoner spent two weeks in custody and is now back in the Van Mesdag Clinic.
