Roermond asbestos cleanup progressing

The asbestos cleanup in Roermond is slowly progressing. Streets in the neighborhood have already been cleaned and are now asbestos free. A specialized cleaning company will today spray liquid over the fire debris to prevent asbestos particles being further disbursed by the wind. The municipality will start cleaning individuals' areas next. On December 16th a large fire destroyed two sheds which contained dozens of yachts. Asbestos was set free during the fire. The asbestos spread over a large part of the city. The center of Roermond was closed for several days and shops had to remain close for three days. Thus far the asbestos cleanup has taken 10 days.
