Man killed in Utrecht is Mohamed Boulaaouin

The man who was murdered on Duurstedelaan in Utrecht on Friday, December 19th, at about 19:45, has been identified as the 44 year old Mohamed Boulaaouin from Zeist. Mohamed Boulaaouin was the father of two children and he lived alternately in Morocco and the Netherlands. According to the police, so far there are no indications that his murder is connected to the gang war in Amsterdam. The police wish to make contact with anyone who can provide more information about the events of the night of the murder or about Mohamed Boulaaouin himself. Around 19:45 on Friday night a man let out two or three dogs. The police would like to make contact with him as he may have seen something important. A table tennis tournament on Duurstedelaan started around 20:00 on that night. The police would like to talk to participants who may have seen something. A witness saw a gray car, possibly a Volkswagen Golf, drive away from Duurstedelaan towards Rijnenburglaan immediately after the shooting. Another witness saw a gray car with supposedly foreign registration plates parked partially on the sidewalk on Duurstedelaan. There were two people in the car.
