Schippers denies resignation rumors

Minister Edith Schippers (Public Health, Welfare and Sports) denies that she threatened to resign if no solution is found for her collapsed healthcare law. She said this on Friday morning in the parliamentary debate on the care crisis. "I never thought: we won't come out of this. It was a search with the PvdA to come out in the Cabinet together." Schippers said. "I will fight as long as I see opportunities to realize my ideals. I did not brandish my portfolio for a moment. Giving up is not my habit." She also denies that she demanded assurances from the three PvdA senators who voted against her law. According to Schippers, they only discussed its content.
