Unemployment remains level in Netherlands

According to Statistic Netherlands, the unemployment rate in the Netherlands has remained almost constant in the last three months. There were 630 thousand unemployed in the Netherlands in November, accounting for 8 percent of the workforce. There were 425 thousand current unemployment benefits in November, 1.4 percent more than in October. Per sector the differences in current unemployment benefits ranged from a 14.5 percent increase for agriculture to a 6.1 percent drop for education. The number of unemployment benefits increased across all age groups. Defined by the International Labor Organization (ILO), unemployment in the Netherlands accounts for 6.5 percent of the workforce. This is the same as in October. This means that the unemployment rate in the Netherlands is relatively low in international terms. In October unemployment in the euro zone amounted to 11.5 percent and 10 percent in the European union as a whole.
