Cocaine found hidden in Christmas decorations at Schiphol
The Marechaussee (military police) and Customs have arrested three men at Schiphol Airport on suspicion of narcotics smuggling.
On November 14th customs found over 2 kilograms of suspected cocaine from Lithuania in the baggage of a 23 year old man. The drugs were hidden in Christmas decorations.
The Drugs Team Schiphol of the Koninklijke Marechaussee (DTS) started an investigation that led to two men living in Amsterdam. The two men, 37 and 38 years old, were arrested in a hotel at Schiphol on suspicion of involvement in drug smuggling. The Marechaussee found a fake Spanish identity card on one of the suspects.
The Marechaussee is investigating the case led by the Public Prosecution of Noord-Holland. The magistrate ordered that all three suspects remain in custody for 90 days.
