Over 95 Ajax fans arrested in Paris

The French police arrested 95 Ajax fans in Paris at about midnight on Monday night. The detainees were about to enter a fist fight with supporters of the French club Paris Saint Germain near the Eiffel Tower. 54 of the supporters are still in custody. At the time of their arrest, the fans had weapons such as brass knuckles, iron bars and balaclavas in their possession. None of them had tickets for the PSG-Ajax match that will be played tonight in the Champions League. Only 850 tickets to the match were made available to Ajax because the French police were expecting trouble. Yesterday 2 thousand police officers were patrolling the streets in Paris. Ajax has been disqualified for the next round of the European million tournament, but can still qualify for the Europa League as number 3 in group F.
