Cheaper basic health insurance needed: Socialists

The SP is advocating for a health insurance for everyone. SP Parliament Member Renske Leijten has proposed the plan "Then National Healthcare Provision", which includes lower premiums, higher quality of care and taking the power away from insurance companies. In this plan the implementation of the basic health insurance is once again a public job. "One organization is much cheaper than many different health insurance companies and because we organize it publicly it is no longer necessary to pocket as much premium money. Additionally we leave the time of profit with expensive paid premiums behind us." Leijten proposes turning the health insurance companies into one public organization that will handle the basic insurance. With this the market forces will disappear from health insurance and hundreds of millions will be saved on implementation.
