Long term care emergency fund proposed by Green MPs

GroenLinks wants to set up an emergency fund for people in danger of losing necessary care due to the impending changes in long-term care. GroenLinks will make this proposal during the discussion of the Ministry of Public Health budget this week. GroenLinks Member of Parliament Linda Voortman speaks based on a TNS Nipo research study of a "threatening care crisis". TNS Nipo asked a representative group of long term care users what they expect from the transfer of care responsibilities to the municipalities. In general they expect to receive less professional care. While the majority expect to receive enough care at home, respondents are anxious about having to ask their family or friends to care for them. TNS Nipo will repeat the survey twice in 2015, to determine the consequences of the transfer of care responsibilities to the municipalities.
