Clean your kitchens: health minister's new campaign

The Ministry of Public Health has launched a campaign to make people aware of bacteria in the kitchen. Every day about 2 thousand Dutch people suffer from food poisoning. According to the ministry this is partly due to people not maintaining proper hygiene in the kitchen, for example, not changing a dish cloth every day or preparing meat with unwashed hands. With this campaign Minister Edith Schippers (VVD) wants to bring attention to forgotten knowledge about hygiene in the kitchen. The campaign includes tips like the proper temperature of the refrigerator, cutting meat on a separate cutting board and keeping raw and cooked food separate. The campaign is being officially launched today.
