Bike tests for old people begin

Safe Traffic Netherlands (VVN) has introduced a bicycle exam for seniors. They are often the victims of traffic accidents. The exam looks at the driving ability and traffic knowledge of the seniors. Their bicycles are also scrutinized. "It is a playful way to bring attention to the seriousness of the alarming increase of accidents among elderly people. We hope that the initiative is take over by other municipalities. Our 260 subdivisions would like to help them", says VVN spokesperson Rob Stomphorst. The first bicycle exam for seniors happened yesterday in Amersfoort.
