Amsterdam barbers to attempt Movember record

On October 31st one hundred men, including Amsterdam city councilors and other prominent Dutchmen, will shave their beards in a makeshift shaving salon off the Frederiksplein for Movember. The initiative was spearheaded by Amsterdam hipster haircutters Cut Throat Barber & Coffee. This is to break the "classic shaves" world record and to bring attention to men's health. Yori Mulder, Dorian van Rijsselberghe, Remy Bonjasky, Kjeld Nuis, rapper Sef and DJ Bakermat are this year's ambassadors for the campaign. The event will be heald at Pistache, Frederiksplein 8, beginning at 5 p.m. Emre Unver (PvdA), Reinier van Dantzig (D66), Jorrit Nuijens (GroenLinks) and Peter Kwint (SP) will wear their mustaches on behalf of the Amsterdam political scene. They hope to join forces and collect a considerable amount for research into prostate and testicular cancer.
