Elderly pedestrian struck by car, killed

An 88 year old woman from Arnhem died late Wednesday after she was hit by a car in Hollandweg. At about 21:00 pm a 45 year old motorist from Arnhem hit the woman while she was crossing the road at the zebra crossing. The motorist stated that he did not see the victim as it was raining at the time. The motorist was taken in for questioning. According to the police the motorist was sober.
