Suspected Jihadist froms The Hague arrested

Authorities in Belgium have arrested a man and a woman from The Hague Thursday, as part of investigations into a suspected jihadist network in Schilderswijk.

Officers dressed in bullet proof vests raided four houses in the neighborhood last night. The addresses had popped up during the investigations that had started on information from Belgian authorities, the prosecutor’s office says.

During the raid officers confiscated hard drives and ‘jihadist” material. Nobody was arrested during the raids.

The man and the woman were subsequently arrested at the Zaventhem Airport in Belgium, upon their arrival from Turkey. They are suspected of having ties with jihadists, violating weapons laws in a terrorist context and financing terrorism.
