Grenades found in Drenthe home; neighbors evacuated

Police found 2 grenades in a home they raided on the Prins Bernhardstraat in Smilde, Monday afternoon, after they were tipped off about a hemp nursery. About 25 homes were evacuated. The Explosives squad removed the grenades from the home after inspection. Police also seized some pneumatic guns and 200 cannabis plants. The 25-year-old occupants was not at home at the time of the raid. Police still need to question him on how and where he got the grenades. The plants were destroyed. By the end of the afternoon the residents were allowed to return to their homes.
