A'dam Balcony Ban over Obama, Jinping visits

A set of substantial security measures will apply in several areas in Amsterdam until Tuesday, March 25, due to the visits of President Barak Obama and the Chinese President, Xi Jinping. In certain parts of town people will not be allowed on their balconies or rooftops, and no windows may be opened.

The places the presidents will visit will be shielded by enormous screens, and only people who have been screened will be allowed in. Obama, who is the first reigning American president to visit Amsterdam, will visit the Rijksmuseum on Monday. The square, the Q-park garage, and the pubs and restaurants will be off-limits during his visit. An overview of the restricted areas include the Hilton hotel from March 22, 18:00 to March 25, 20:00, the Royal Palace on March 22, 13:00 to 23:00, the Novotel area until March 23, 15:00, the Okura hotel from March 22, 07:00 to March 25, 20:00, and the Museum square from March 23, 22:00 to March 24, 13:00.
