Amsterdam webcam case to court
On Thursday, the criminal case against 40-year-old Michel S. will have an interim meeting. Justice suspects S. of sexually abusing hundreds of young children, mostly boys, via a webcam.
The Public Prosecution Authority (OM) announced an estimate of 400 children between 12 and 14 years of age, in January. Of these, 56 were identified. Prior to the meeting of Thursday, the OM didn't want to share any information about the proceedings.
Amsterdam local, S., sought out his victims on chatrooms, using various aliases. He often postured as a girl. As far as is known, it never came to physical contact with any of the children. In this way, the case of S. differs from that of Frank R. from Cuijk who is also involved in a webcam abuse case, but was seeking out several victims to physically abuse. S. did pressure his victims by threatening to publish and spread images.
The investigations into Michel S.'s practices has spread to Belgium, Spain and the United States. S. has been in custody since last year.
