Dutch fugitive story to become film

Tomas Ross, a famous Dutch thriller writer, who has won the prestigious 'Golden Noose' three times so far, is going to make a movie about the criminal duo, Marcos van der Ploeg and Enise Merve Bircan, announced the writer, Friday, on BNR radio. "My producer and I have always wanted to make a road movie-like series, kind of like Thelma & Louise," said Ross.

Ross has never attempted something similar, because so far something like this never happened in the Netherlands, so the public wouldn't perceive it as genuine. Now opportunity presented itself with Van der Ploeg and Bircan, who were already nicknamed Bonnie and Clyde. The writer intends to add a soft touch to his characters.
